(4) FR 100 to FR 99. Then follow 99 to camp coordinates. ::ALT ROUTE:: through Santa Fe and Abiquiu is fine too. Fill up in SF. Then take Hwy 84 to Hwy 96 and find Forest Road 100 for your turn. Take it to FR 99 and then camp. The mountain road after La Cuerva sucks for low clearance city cars. The map says it will save you 15 minutes travel time, but the road is not well maintained and we ran into closed arms on the forest road the first time we scouted in March/April. It will cost you multiple hours to turn around and go the correct route. ARRIVAL: Set up camp on the outside of the horseshoe (road shape) It's beautiful at 9,000 ft! Cooler temps too!
