For the hashers who aren’t DIVAHHH’s, never fear: there will still be beer! Bundeslicker and I clearly think alike, and had unintentionally planned hashes in the same locale two weeks in a row, so I’ve gone looking for inspiration in the “wilds” of Mechelen. For those who fancy a cold dip before trail, De Nekker is already open for swimming on the other side of Mechelen. Hares: Chorizo Lover Beermeister: Trash Can Man Start: The car park at Stationsplein, 2811 Hombeek 51.013734, 4.442058 https://maps.app.goo.gl/94P1w2mdQgaXGs237 Public Transport: Take a train to Mechelen (just Mechelen, not Nekkerspoel!), the IC 3312 that arrives at 13:55 should work for most. Bus 89 from Mechelen station (14:10, platform 18) arrives at Hombeek dorp at 14:23. From there it’s just a 3 minute walk to the start, so bring a beer for the wait. Alternatively, you can cycle the 3km from the station and choose your own train! :) Trail: Yes. The walkers trail is a little on the long side, but team beer will make sure the beer is cold. Shiggy: probably a puddle or two, but it’s looking a little dry. Ticks: it’s near water and there’s greenery, so prepare for beasties. Weather: that’s on the RA. ☀️
