Ahoy me hearties! The famous pirate Blackbeard died on November 22, 1718, during a fierce battle with forces led by British Lieutenant Robert Maynard at Ocracoke Inlet, North Carolina. He was killed after being shot five times and suffering around twenty stab wounds before being beheaded. His head was then hung from the bowsprit of Maynard's ship to serve as proof of his death. One thing about those Brits...they are a thorough bunch! So join us for an afternoon trail that, with enough interest, will be followed by a pirate themed pub crawl! Start location and trail deets to follow! Update ... Trail will be beach and shiggy starting at San Luis Beach Access # 40. Circle will END promptly at sunset (5:22 pm). Trail will be A-B with a shag wagon and 4x4 truck-back. Also do not plan on swimming due to the notorious rip-tide at San Luis Pass. If you try to swim I will jump in and drown you myself! Pirate/Nautical themed pub crawl details to follow! On-On!
