DH4 #1669 Dah Gimp's 1000th and Cookout Hash!!! (Run/Walk) Date: Saturday, Aug 15, 2026 Time: 4 pm Gimp's virgin Dayton Hash was December 14, 1996, at Hooters in Centerville. Sadly, Hooters is no longer there, but Gimp has persevered through twenty-nine years of Dayton hashing!!! And how appropriate that the hash number ends in 69!!! A little bit of history for those who weren't even born yet or were still in their diapers: When Gimp did his first run back in December of 1996, Bill Clinton was in office, gas was $1.20 a gallon, the internet came on an AOL floppy disk, and he laid his first trail using Y2K-compliant flour. 🤯 Since then, he has spent three decades aggressively short-cutting trails, completely ignoring YBFs, and somehow missing the Beer Near's despite having a built-in radar for catching the hares. 🤔 He has consumed enough down-downs over 1,000 runs to ensure his liver could be used as a Coast Guard-approved flotation device. Now, medical science wants him to donate his internal organs for future academic study—mostly to understand how a man can survive twenty-nine years on nothing but trail dust, flat beer, and orange food. Cum celebrate this huge achievement!!! 🥳 ...or if nothing else enjoy the free food and beer...burrrrp 🥴 Location: Casa Dah Gimp, 140 Jones Street, Dayton OH 45410 Street only parking. Should be plenty of spots close to the house. Meet at Gimp's backyard patio, sign in and drink a beer before trail. $8 for beer drinkers. Otherwise, $4. Free for first time hashers! Hares: Dah Gimp Hash Trail: The trail will be in the downtown Dayton area with two or three bar stops along the way. Remember to bring ID and cash! Length will be approximately 3-ish miles. We'll return back to the house for beer and food and watch poor Gimp suffer. 🫣 Hashing in General: This is a fun run or hike where you will follow a trail of flour not knowing exactly where it will lead. One or more beer/water stops along the way! In hashing you'll will be running/walking as part of a group. The faster runners will be out ahead looking for flour marks on the ground trying to figure out which way the trail route goes. Sometimes they go the wrong way which allows the slow runners/walkers to catch up and even get ahead. This allows everyone to go at their own pace and stay together as a group. Dogs: Allowed on trail. Leash is required. Must be friendly to people and other dogs. May not be not allowed inside during bar stops. Children: Adults only for first time hashers, since many of us do drink beer. 😋 Otherwise 18+. On-After: We'll hangout on the backyard for beer and hot dogs. Feel free to bring any specialty beers and food to share. Things to bring/wear: Optional food and beer to share Stories to humiliate Gimp Whistle you never blow Hash mug or a free plastic cup.
